Jellyfish

Looking at jellyfish is so peaceful. watching them makes me want to be in the water with them, just floating around. No direction, not much sound or light. Maybe it's the similarity of being in utero that makes it seem so appealing. I saw a show on television that focused on the smallest of jellyfish and how terribly dangerous they are. I think they were called Box jellyfish.
I wonder why nature made some of these jellyfish poison? I can't imaging many critters of the sea would want to eat them. They remind me if marshmallows, another thing I can't imagine any being wanting to eat!

Queen Bee

This is another from my wooden series of creatures. I like to put smokes in the hands of my works, but people who buy often think it's a poor image. So, folks with kids won't purchase them. Once in a while I put a smoke in anyway. I'd like to do everything "my" way, but I have to sell a certain amount of paintings to continue painting. Supplies cost money!! When I'm rich and famous I'll have everyone smoking! Especially the dogs and cats!

Blue Birds

This is another piece that was done in May 2006. I'm pleased to know that a friend purchased it, so I'll get to see it again. Sometimes I get a little attached to my work, so it's comforting to know where it goes. I enjoy doing pieces that make people smile.

Mama

This is an acrylic on canvas and mixed media. It was part of a "mother" series that I did for a solo show in May. I rehung it at a Second Saturday show at Deep Gallery on the 9th and it sold. I'll miss these folks.

Rain Guy

This is acrylic on wood. 4"x 6". I love doing these little ones. Much different than painting on canvas. P.S. I've lost this painting. I've looked high and low and can't find it! Maybe I gave it away and don't recall. Hmmmmmm.
